Become part of the HI layer the world needs to make sure AI for families is developed responsibly and watched properly. Membership is free, uncapped, and open to any practitioner or parent with a genuine stake in how children use AI.

Chapters are local, and they are how the work actually happens.

A chapter is a school, a church, a homeschool co-op, a library, a practice or any organisation that gathers its people around this question. You join a chapter, not a mailing list.

The Council is being seated, and the first chapters are being chartered now. If your school, church or co-op should be one of them, you can start it rather than wait for it.

You need a Qbit account to join a chapter, because your membership lives on it. That is also how a chapter reaches you, and how you leave.

What members do

Members do the volume of the work.

  • Comment on draftsEvery standard and best practice goes to the full membership for comment before the Board ratifies it.
  • Test materialsEducational materials are piloted by members in real classrooms and homeschools before release.
  • Staff working groupsSmall groups that take one question and stay with it.
  • Answer the annual surveyA practitioner survey on how children are actually using AI, published as the Council's own research.
  • Raise issuesAny member may put an item on the Board's agenda.
  • Review what Qbit shipsIncluding the things we would rather you did not notice.

  • The Council Member designationUsable in your own bio and materials, with published terms of use.
  • Early accessStandards, materials and research before public release.
  • A direct lineTo the Board, through the working groups.
Membership is free and always will be. It is not a credential Qbit issues, not a certification, not an accreditation, and not a qualification. It means you joined a body and do its work. You owe Qbit no endorsement, and nothing about your membership is a customer relationship.
